SUMMARY:Walk the Walk with María: Bolin Creek Trail\, part 2 (Start at Umstead Park)
DESCRIPTION:This event was cancelled due to snow and ice. We have other Walk the Walk events planned for the weeks ahead. Please check our calendar for available times to join María and other supporters on these walks. \nOn Saturday\, July 31 we will begin at Umstead Park and walk the western end of the Bolin Creek Trail. The trail intersects Tanyard Branch Trail near the park. We will start there and walk in the direction of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. \nThe Bolin Creek Trail was damaged in recent storms\, and repairs are ongoing. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the parks departments in both Chapel Hill and Carrboro as they maintain the beautiful trails in southern Orange County. \nThe trail runs along the south side of the creek on the heavily wooded slope to the south of the park. From the park there are bridges crossing the creek\, and either one will take you to the trail which is broad and level enough for even small children to enjoy. \nThe section of the trail we intend to walk is highlighted in orange on the map below. \nCome join us at the park at 3:00 PM to talk with María along the way. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Meet us at Chapel Hill Community Center (120 S. Estes Drive\, Chapel Hill\, NC 27514) for a walk on the Bolin Creek Greenway. You can walk as much or as little of the greenway as you like. It’s a great opportunity to spend some time with María. \nThe community center park is itself a great destination with excellent play equipment for children. The entrance to the Bolin Creek Trail is near the playground.
