This event was cancelled due to snow and ice. We have other Walk the Walk events planned for the weeks ahead. Please check our calendar for available times to join María and other supporters on these walks.

On Saturday, July 31 we will begin at Umstead Park and walk the western end of the Bolin Creek Trail. The trail intersects Tanyard Branch Trail near the park. We will start there and walk in the direction of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The Bolin Creek Trail was damaged in recent storms, and repairs are ongoing. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the parks departments in both Chapel Hill and Carrboro as they maintain the beautiful trails in southern Orange County.

The trail runs along the south side of the creek on the heavily wooded slope to the south of the park. From the park there are bridges crossing the creek, and either one will take you to the trail which is broad and level enough for even small children to enjoy.

The section of the trail we intend to walk is highlighted in orange on the map below.
